TODAY WE WILL IDENTIFY
AND REPRESENT POSITIVE
NUMBERS ON A NUMBER LINE
Identify = point out
Represent = stand for
Positive number = number greater
than zero
Number line= line in which indicate the
sequence of numbers
NUMBER LINE!
Number lines are used for many things!
A few of the uses of number lines are to:
Add
Subtract
5+3=8
0

POSITIVE NUMBERS
All numbers that are greater than zero! Remember
that if a number does not have a sign next to it,
then it is positive!
Some examples are:
7, 8, +8, 9, +19, 1,000,000
etc.
Non-examples are:
-1, -3, -1,000,023
NUMBER LINE
a number line is a picture of a straight line on
which every point corresponds to a real number and
every real number to a point.
