• For multiplication and division:
1) Count the total sig figs in each of the original

2) Report or round your answer to have that same

• For addition and subtraction:
1) Scan each of the original numbers from left to right
- What was the last PLACE in either number where
you found a sig fig?
2) Report or round your answer to have its last sig fig
in that same PLACE!
