In this lesson, the pupils will
do subtraction with regrouping
correctly of a given word
problem.

Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the
pupils will be able to:
1. Subtract 2 – digit numbers with
regrouping.
2. Work cooperatively.

Preparation
Prepare the base ten block
and the place value chart for
demonstration of subtracting
less number from the place
value of ones and tens.
Prerequisite Skills & Concept
The children should
proficient in identifying the
place value of a number and
also had practice the concept
of subtraction.

1. Begin the lesson with a video from

4. Observe students at work.
Do they do problems correctly?
So they recite rhyme to help
them do the problems.
5. Group work:
Pupils will get into group of 5.
Each group will be given:
A word problem to solve.
Each group will report their answer
and show the illustration of their
answer.

manipulative while working in
groups.
