


Settled in northern Mesopotamia.
The Akkadians and Sumerians had
peace for many years until Sargon
(Akkadian leader) wanted to make
the Akkadian empire much larger.
Sargon was the first ruler to have a
permanent army.

the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean
