Electrolytic capacitors
These have a polarity!!
Short wire is always GND!
This one is a radial version
Filter, for instance to remove noise.
Block DC components in signals

Mind the polarity, wires can not be compared

1. 7805 Regulator ($1,50)
2. These can get hot! Put a heat sink if neccesary

Avoid making short cuts, always put
a resistor in series (470  (Ohm))
LED needs about 10 mA to light up
