• These instructions are intended for building a
MegaSquirt II unit for a Neon/420a/NGC car. It
will not work for MS1, the clock gen circuit has
been omitted. The assembly has been rearranged from the standard order into an
arrangement that seems to produce the best
install speed for me. It’s not the best procedure
for newbies.

Install CPU Socket
(Use rubber band to hold it down while you solder it)
Install DB37 & DB9 Connectors
Install F1 & F2
Install C4, C6, C8, C15
Install C16 & C17
Note Polarity

Install MOV1

Install Q2, Q4, Q6, Q7, Q8, Q10, Q13, Q19, Q20
Note: Spaced 1/8” off the board
Install U6, U4, U3
Install U5
Install Q9, Q12
Install Q3, Q11
Install Q1, Q5
Install Q16 & Second IGBT
Second IGBT installed with legs trimmed short in R37 location.
Jumper TACHSELECT to XG1
Jumper D1 & D2
Jumper OptoOut to TSEL
Jumper OptoIn to 5v source
Install 510ohm resistor in proto area connect one side to top R26.
Connect other side of resistor to IGBTIN.
Connect middle leg of IGBT directly to pin 36
on DB37
Connect left leg of IGBT to ground pins at DB37
Connect right leg of Q16 to right leg of second IGBT with jumper wire
Middle leg will go to S4
Install 510ohm resistor in proto area connect one side to top R29.
Connect other side of resistor to left leg of second IGBT.
Jumper IAC2B directly to pin at DB37
