There is no equivalent in English. EX: Quiero a Rosa./ I love Rosa. Veo a Juan y a Julio./ I Juan and Julio. …The personal a • If you ask a question with quién/ whom (sing.) or quiénes/ whom (pl.), when it is a direct object, you must use the “personal a.” – EX: • ?A quién ves? / Who(m) do you see? • ?A quiénes admiras?/ Who(m) do you admire? …The personal a • Do Not use the “personal a” with the verbs ser, tener, and hay. – Alba es doctora. – Tengo tres hermanas y un hermano. – Hay muchos estudiantes aquí.
