Tú commands are used to give a command to someone you are familiar with. To form the affirmative tú command of regular verbs, just use the él/ella/Ud. form in the present tense. Trabajar Comer Escribir Trabaja Come Escribe Irregular Verbs Some verbs are irregulars in the tu command form. They must be memorized. They are: poner tener salir venir pon ten sal ven Pon la cuchara en la mesa. Ven conmigo a la fiesta! decir di hacer haz sé ser ve ir Put the spoon on the table. Come to the party with me! If you use a direct object pronoun with an affirmative command, attach the pronoun to the command. Example: Josefina, hazlo ahora mismo! Josefina, do it now! When a pronoun is added to a command of two or more syllables, a written accent mark is needed over the stressed vowel. Example: Martin, ayúdame. Martin, help me. Traducir 1. Eat your lunch. To form the negative tú command: 1. Take the “yo” 2. Drop the “o” 3. They must be memorized. They are: dar estar ir ser no des no estés no vayas no seas Remember that pronouns are attached to affirmative commands. Example: Josefina, hazlo ahora mismo! With negative commands, pronouns always go right before the conjugated verb. -Pico -No, los tomates también? no los piques. Traducir 1. Don’t fry the chicken in the pan.
