• It needs to be cleaned up before you
have a final version.

•Use a highlighter to highlight the capital
letters at the beginning of sentences.
•Make sure beginning of every sentence is
capitalized.
•Highlight names and any other proper
nouns to make sure they are capitalized.
•Highlight punctuation at end
of sentences to make sure it is
correct.

spelling.

•Look at every single word. Put a check √ if it
is spelled correctly or a question mark? if you
are not sure on top of every word.
•Circle ⃝ the ? question marks .
Usage
•Usage is not writing like you talk. No texting
allowed!
•Watch for commonly misused words. (its, it’s,
there, their, they’re, wear, were, we’re, where) etc.
•Underline if not sure.
More Usage
•Nouns- Circle ⃝ every noun. Add an
adjective (word that describes) in front of
every noun to make paper more alive.
•Verbs – Put a box around every verb. Put
an adverb (slowly, passionately) before each
verb. The adverb tells how/to what extent it
was done.
