• You already know how to give
affirmative commands to
someone you address as tú.
• You take the 3rd person form of
the verb in present tense.

• To form many of these
commands, take the yo form of
the present tense and drop the
-go:

Ven, ten, ve y sé
Come!, Have!, Go! And Be!
These are the irregular tú commands
Learn them right away – ole!

be attached to affirmative
commands.
• You will also need an accent in
most cases!

Negative Tú Commands
• To form negative tú commands
with regular verbs, we drop
the o of the present-tense yo
form and add the following
endings:

• For “AR” verbs
in present tense!
– Opposite is “es”
• Take off the “o”
• For “ER” and “IR” verbs
• Put on the opposite
– Opposite is “as”
