Výukový materiál slouží k seznámení, procvičování,
upevnění znalostí a komunikativní dovednosti specifické
gramatiky a je doplněný o přiložené pracovní listy, které
žáci vypracovávají v hodině po shlédnutí prezentace.

Phrasal Verbs I
English language is more or less special with the use of so
called phrasal verbs – verbs + preposition(s) where the
meaning is often hard or impossible to guess.
This presentation introduces three very common verbs
BE
LOOK
used as phrasal verbs.
GET

+ INTO
+ AWAY
+ UP
+ UP TO
She‘s in.
What‘s on?
I am off to bed.
The milk is off.
He‘s into horses.
He is away on holiday.
What‘s up?
What are they up to?
It is up to you.
= inside her home / office
= What‘s on the programme?
= I am going to bed.
= It can‘t be used anymore.
= He is interested in horses.
= … away from here.
= What is going on?
= What are they getting ready for?
= You must make a decision.

Get out of a car / taxi.
= leave it
I must get rid of it.
= remove it
She got over all her troubles. = She overcame them.
We can‘t get out of it.
= We cannot escape.
The injured dog got away. = it escaped.
They got away with a new model.
= They were successful with a new model.
