order requires you to read a lot of the passage.

you to know the main idea of a passage.

Transitional Words and Semi-Colons
1. Transitional words or phrases show how things
relate.
A. Examples of transitions and how they are used:
 However = contrast/change
 After = what happened next or the next step
 First = opening or initial step
2. Transitions can be used to JOIN 2 sentences
to show they RELATE. Here’s the rules:

The first word after the semi-colon is lowercase.
If a transitional word is the first word of the second
sentence, it is always followed by a comma.
For example, let’s punctuate the following sentences:
 I love riding rollercoasters ; however , I sometimes
feel a little sick afterward.
 Rollercoasters are a unique experience; moreover ,
each ride is different and exciting.

1. Items in a list need commas between each set
of things in a list.
