Linking Verbs and Introduction
 Oral Worm Up! The sky is blue. Can you find the
verb? The verb is…. “is”. The verb is links the sky with
the color to describe it.

 Linking Verbs is a verb that does not show action.
 The verb be is a linking verb.
 The verb be has special forms in the present tense (is,
am, and are).
Examples:
I am; am/he/she/it;
boys/you/we/ they
are.

Number 1 Rule: Always read directions carefully
Write am, is or are to complete each sentences.
