When do we use it?
When we want to express an action that
happended in the past:
yesterday:
The music teacher did´t come to school yesterday.
last night, last week, last month…: We studied 1st eso last year
when I was six…: We all met when we were six
in 1998…: We were born in 1998
a year ago, a month ago…:

How do we express it?
Using the past form in affirmative sentences:
Subject + verb in past + (c)
Daniel flew to England two months ago
Nagore, Atteneri and Kenya uploaded their
English project last week
How do we express it?
Using didn’t + the base form of the main verb in
negative sentences:
Subject+didn’t+verb (base form) + (c)
Juan didn’t wear the red t-shirt at Christmas festival
How do we express it?
Using did the base form of the main verb in
interrogative sentences:
(Qw) Did+ subj+ verb (base form)+ (C) + ?
Did you all bring your workbook yesterday?

Regular verbs – Spelling rules
Add –ed to the verb (base form):
eg. listen
listened
Add –d if the verb ends with an –e:
eg. live
lived
If the verb ends with a consonant + y, this -y drops and
we add –ied:
eg. cry
cried
If the verb ends with cons+vowel+cons, the last
consonant is doubled:
eg. chat
chatted
