OBJECTIVE &
SUBJECTIVE CASE
GRAMMAR LESSON SEBALUIGI
PRODUCTION
SUBJECTIVE CASE
It's a case of a the pronoun when it's the subject of the clause, or
a subject complement.
Examples of subjective case forms are: I, you, he, she, it, we,
they, who and whoever.
OBJECTIVE CASE
It's a case or function, when the verb has a direct/indirect
object. They are also the object of preposition, and the subject
of infinitive or appositive to an object.
Examples of objective case forms are: me, us, you, him, her, it,
them, whom and whomever.
EXAMPLES
FLAGARANT- EXTREMLY NOTICEBLE
Mikey brought me to the island, but it was I that noticed
the flagrant cave where the treasure lies.
FLAUNT- TO SHOW OFF TO IMPRESS
OTHERS
I warned him about flaunting his skate boarding skills, but he
didn't listen to me, so now he is in the hospital.
FURTIVE- SLY
We must take these photos with furtive, because if they catch
us, we might be sent to jail for spying
LATENT- PRESENT BUT NOT ACTIVE
I found out that Timmy has latent ability to draw masterpieces
in his notebook, but he only does them when he thinks nobody
is watching.
OSTENSIBLE- OUTWARDLY APPEARING AS SUC
You have an ostensible personality when you are trying to
impress the popular kids, but listen to me and just be yourself.
SALIENT- STRIKINGLY CONSPICUOUS
I just see a naked clown running a muck in the funeral, and
even though Im suppose to mourn, how can you not notice
something as salient as a clown running around naked.
SEQUESTER- TO REMOVE OR SET APART
Did you sequestered Leslie McAdam from our group because he
was better than you in tag?
SUBTERFUGE- A DECEPTIVE STRATAGEM OR DEVICE
During the Pants War III, Bell bottoms ,gave the leader, Jeans,
a strategy plan to defeat the shirt menace, but it was a
subterfuge, so Jeans lost the battle because of that deception,
which is the reason we wear pants on the inferior part of our
bodies and shirts on the superior part of the body.
SURREPTITIOUS- DONE IN SECRET; DONE
SECRETLY
Do your mission with surreptitious, I can't afford missing
another opportunity to find out what is the Krabby Patty secret
formula.
UNOBTRUSIVE-
NOT AGGRESIVE
The group was sitting in front of the very noisy elementary
students in the play, which infuriated one of our students from
high school, but I he kept his composure, and asked
unobtrusively the elementary students to please keep it down.
