Los verbos –CAR, -GAR,
-ZAR
–CAR, -GAR, -ZAR
Regular verbs that end in –car, -gar, -zar
have a spelling change in the YO form of
the preterite so that the sound of the
verb stem remains the same.
–CAR, -GAR, -ZAR
Think about it: Try taking the verb “sacar” and
adding just an é to the root:
You get “sacé” which in Spanish would be
pronounced “sah-say.”
Not quite the right sound if the verb you start with
is saCAR.
If you care.
If not, just memorize the changes.
