Transcript Thursday: Special Treat

We are having addition to our
class! We are very excited! We
are currently talking to our
students about our behavior
and responsibility when taking
care of pets. I announced we
will have a bunny next week,
and how important it is to not
cry or be loud in class. Please
keep talking to your kids about
it at home. We might get
chances to take him/her
home for a weekend  More
details later! Thank you for
your willingness to help us
with our pet over breaks! We
will worry about summer
closer to the date 
When: September 15, 6-7 pm in Ms. Zoya’s class
7-7:30 – Ice cream in the lobby. Please let me know if you are
planning to come. This is NOT a parent-teacher conference, but
a chance for you to find out about our schedule and meet me, if
you haven’t done so yet!
Dear parents,
We don’t have homework in
preschool, but it is great to
practice writing not only at
school, but encourage your
children at home. We are doing
so many activities with your
children that involve writing,
and all our kids are at a
different place when it comes to
writing.
As we work together to develop
your child’s writing skills,
whether it is starting to write
letters or advancing to words,
your help from home would be a
great addition to our school
activities! Here is an article you
can use to encourage your child
to write!

We will have a Star Student
each week to get to know each
other better! Star student will
be chosen randomly and this is
what our Star’s week will look
like :
*Monday: “This is Me” Collage Project:
Your child should fill out a “This is Me” poster the weekend before they
are to be the Star of the Week. Have them bring it to school with them on
Monday to be presented to the class. They will most likely need your help
on this activity. In addition, your child can bring
collection of pictures of your family, friends, pets, house, vacations, baby
pictures, etc. Cut outs from magazines, words or phrases describing likes
or dislikes may also be included (for example: favorite stuffed animals
and/or toys, favorite books or movies, etc. ). Your child will
share the poster withthe class, and it will be hung up for everyone to see
that week.
*Tuesday: Favorite Book:
The star of the week brings one of his or her favorite books to read
to the class (or have the teacher read to theclass) at our class meeting.
*Wednesday: Parent Letter:
Parents will write a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to
you. Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with your child, and I
will read the letter to the class at class meeting. The content of the letter
is up to you, but you may want to choose from the following ideas:
Describe special or funny stories about your child for the class to hear,
write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we
may not know about your child, send silly or special pictures with a letter
describing the pictures, or write a short story with your child as the main
character. You may also send a video for the class to watch if you choose.
*Thursday: Special Treat:
On Special Treat Day, you may choose to send in a special treat to share
with the class. This could be a favorite snack item chosen
by the Star of the Week, or it might be a special treat that is typically eaten
in that child’s home country.
*Friday: Show and Share:
The star of the week will need to bring something special from home to
share with the class. Please place this object in a bag. Your child will
give the class three clues and the class will try to guess what is
inside the bag. You may want to prepare the clues ahead of time with
your child, write them down and place them in the bag. I can help your
child read the clues to the class. Please be creative in what your child
brings in.
