• Simple future tense: ir + a + infinitive
(going to)
• Future tense: will ___ / shall ____
Future tense—regular verbs
• To conjugate a regular verb in the future
tense:
1. *Keep the verb in the infinitive form 
2. Add the endings
 ALL regular –ar, -er, -ir verbs in the future
have the same endings 

Future tense—irregulars
• Irregular verbs lose their endings (-ar/-er/-ir)
and have spelling changes in the stem.
• Irregular verbs use regular future tense
endings!

• Only one word makes the future tense, so the
English words will and shall are understood!
(Like am/are, was/were, do/did)
• Think of the ending as the will/shall!
