How to express intentions (pg. 354)
Tell about a plan or goal.
Use the phrase, “I am going to…”
There’s a secret garden in my
house. I’m going to discover it.

Use the phrase, “I plan to…”

Use the phrase, “I will …”
Use the phrase, “I’ll keep … until…”

red to create a paragraph.

Zack’s Treasure
• Zack looks for treasure in his room. He searches but he
can’t find any. He goes to the garage to look. Zack’s little
brother wants to play ball, but Zack is too busy. Then
Zack goes inside and sees his brother crying. He feels
bad. So, Zack takes his little brother outside to play ball.
He knows his little brother is the most important thing.

Grammar – Subject & Object Pronouns

• Which words are pronouns?
What are pronouns?
• A pronoun takes the place of a noun.
• A subject pronoun tells who or what is doing
something. It takes the place of a subject in the
sentence. It is usually near the beginning of a sentence.
Mark was happy. He found a missing treasure.
• An object pronoun comes after a verb or after a word
like “for” or “to”.
He found a missing treasure. He found it in the car.
