He has lived in Šibenik since 1966.
(He lives in Šibenik)

He lived in Šibenik in 1966.
( He doesn’t live in Šibenik any more)

Present Perfect Tense
- action in the past ( we don’t know when ) with
a result NOW ( present )

Past Simple Tense
- we know exactly when an action happened in
the past, it has nothing to do with NOW (present)
