Stem Changing Verbs
Here are the 4 types of Stem Changing verbs
that exist in Spanish.
O - ue
E - ie
U - ue
E - i
Here’s how it works: Go to the middle of the
word and find the vowel that is supposed to
change and replace it with it’s vowel(s)
replacements.
Stem Changers = Boot Verbs
Why are Stem Changers also called Boot Verbs?
When you conjugate a stem changing verb you
do not conjugate the Nosotros form nor the
Vosotros form. If you draw a line around the
forms of the verb that require the stem
changing then it will appear like a boot. This
is to help you remember which ones do not
require to be stem changed.
Boot Verb= Stem Changers
The stubjects inside the boot require the stem
changers. And those subjects out of the boot do not.

 dormir = to sleep
