FORMAT TIPS
Keep to 1 page
½” - 1” margins, 10-12 pt. font
Keep it simple (white paper, black ink –
no colors or graphics)
Use a consistent format
Place most relevant information at top
Create on Word doc
CONTENT TIPS
TAILOR your resume to each specific
position
Be truthful
Avoid personal pronouns (“I” or “my”)
Avoid acronyms (SPOP, ASUCI)
Have it proofread!!
CONCERNED ABOUT SPACE?
I don’t have enough to fill a page!
Use a header that takes several lines
Use 12 pt. font
Work with your margins
Use columns to list courses and skills
Include relevant courses
I have too much content to fit on one page!
Use a smaller font size (10-11pt) and margins
Type contact information in one line
Wrap skills with commas (no columns)
Combine bullet points
Include only the most relevant and recent experiences
