plural number .
3.Learn the plurals of some compound word.
4. Learn number as a use of pronoun , verb and
determiners.
Definition of Number
Number is a grammatical distinction which
tells whether a noun(also a pronoun ,verb or
determiner) is singular or plural.
For example
Mr. Aslam is a teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Aslam are
teachers.
Kinds of number
There are two numbers in English-
Singular
Boy
Plural
Pencils
Defination of singular and plural form.
A noun that denotes one person or thing is said
to have a singular form.
For example
Boy
Bus
Pencil
Defination of plural form.
A noun that denotes more than one person
or thing is said to have a plural form.
For example:
Boys

Pencils
Plurals are usually formed by adding s, es or
ies to the singular form.
Singular+s=plural

Note: Most nouns are made plural by adding an s to the
singular from.

Note: plurals are formed by adding es when the singular
form ends in s,ss,sh,ch and x.
