In Ancient Greece they
believed in lots of different
gods and goddesses.
Each
GOD
had a
different
POWER
and
SYMBOL
represe
nted
them.
GODS
They lived high
up at mount
olympus.
Zeus:
Zeus was
the king of the
gods. He married
his sister Hera. His
symbols were a
thunderbolt,
an
eagle and an oak
tree.

Poseidon:
Poseidon
was the god of the sea,
he
lived
in
an
underwater palace. His
symbols were a trident,
dolphins and horses.
Hades: Hades was the god of the
Underworld. Hades was really rich
because he owned all the precious stones
and metals of the world.
Apollo: Apollo was the god of the
Sun and truth. Artemis was
Apollo´s twin sister. His symbol
was a laurel tree.
Hermes: Hermes was the messenger
of the gods. He was energetic and
mischievous. His symbol was flying
shoes.
Dionysus: Dionysus was the god
of wine and plays. He traveled the
world to teach how to make
wine.His symbol was a cup of
wine.
Ares: Ares was the god of the
war. Ares temper was violent.
His symbols were burning torch,
a spear, dogs and vultures.
Asclepius: Asclepius was the god of
medicine. Asclepius was a very good
doctor, Zeus killed him for reviving lots
of dead people.
Hephaestus: Hephaestus was the
patron of craftsmen and hard working.
Hephaestus made Zeus thunder bolts.
Eros: Eros was a cupid he made couples
fall in love. One day he fell madly in love
with a human called Psyche. Zeus
solved the problem by turning Psyche
into a goddess.

power. And each of them has
symbols. In Greek mythology, six
goddesses, with the gods, ruled
the universe from atop Greece’s
Mount Olympus.These
Olympians had come to power

dead.
To honor ApolLo the god of the
sun they had the PYTHIAN GAMES at
Delphi.. There were chariot races, art
and dance competitions and athletics.
