INTRODUCTION TO SOFTWARES
• Computer software, or simply software, is
that part of a computer system that consists
of encoded information or computer
instructions, in contrast to the
physical hardware from which the system is
built.
• The term "software" was first proposed
by Alan Turing

1. APPLICATION SOFTWARES
• An application
software (app or application for short) is
a computer program designed to perform a
group of coordinated functions, tasks, or
activities for the benefit of the user
• Examples of an application include a word
processor, a spreadsheet, an accounting
application, a web browser, a media player, an
aeronautical flight simulator, a console
game or a photo editor.
• Specific examples of application software
include Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook,
Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Skype.
Games and mobile applications such as "Clash
of Clans," SoundCloud, Spotify and Uber, are
also considered application software

1. Business Application softwares
• Microsoft Word is a word processor available for Windows and OS X. Word
is also available in some editions of Microsoft Works.
• Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that originally competed with
the dominant Lotus 1-2-3, and eventually outsold it. It is available for the
Windows and OS X platforms. Microsoft released the first version of Excel
for the Mac OS in 1985
• Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program for Windows and OS X. It
is used to create slideshows
• Microsoft Outlook (not to be confused with Outlook Express) is a personal
information manager. The replacement for Windows Messaging, Microsoft
Mail, and Schedule+ starting in Office 97, it includes an e-mail client,
calendar, task manager and address book.
ADOBE
• Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published
by Adobe Systems for Windows and OS X.
• Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor developed and marketed
by Adobe Systems. The latest version, Illustrator CC, is the seventeenth
generation in the product line.
• Adobe Dreamweaver is a proprietary web development tool developed
by Adobe Systems. Dreamweaver was created by Macromedia in 1997
• Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics,
and compositing application developed by Adobe Systems and used in
the post-production process of filmmaking and television production
• Adobe Flash (formerly called Macromedia Flash and Shockwave Flash) is
a multimedia software platform for production of animations, browser
games, rich Internet applications, desktop applications, mobile
applications and mobile games.
