





Any 80386, 80486, Pentium, Pentium II or higher
ISA, EISA, VESA Local Bus, PCI Bus
At least 4MB memory, for X-Windows, 64MB is better
Any MFM, RLL, IDE or SCSI hard drives with at least
1GB space
ATAPI, SCSI, IDE CD-ROM drive
MDA, Hercules, CGA, VGA or Super VGA video card
and monitor

Linux distributions are available both via:

mail order on diskette, tape, and CD-ROM
Getting prepared for installation
collect any manuals you have on your hardware
gather detailed information
on your hardware configuration
check your machine for configuration problems with
supported hardware that could cause
an un-recoverable lockup during Linux installation
