Clock Speed
• Internal Clock - CPU clock produces electronic
pulses at a predetermined rate.
• Clock speed - (usually) the time to retrieve an
instruction from memory and put it in a CPU
register

• One Hertz (1 Hz) - one cycle per second.
• One Megahertz ( 1 MHz = 1,000,000 Hz) computer clock speed is measured in MHz.
