on construction from the
ground up

fortified, mud-brick wall
It is known for its impressive
skyscrapers, some reaching eight
stories high and all built with mudbrick

Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, just west of the
city, Tarim
It was added to Unesco’s World Heritage
Site list in 1982
