2006 SASB Summary (cont.)
NesCom will be adding a PAR type with the 2007 PAR form to
specifically allow the adoption of non-IEEE standards. It will separate
the SCOPE and PURPOSE of the document being adopted from the
SCOPE and PURPOSE of the adoption to make it clear during sponsor
ballot that nothing can be changed in the document being adopted.
PatCom remains focused on changes to the SASB Bylaws and
Operations Manual to improve the process and reduce loop holes. See
http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/pp-dialog for more information. For
2006, PatCom’s membership was expanded to 6 voting members. As
per a February 2006 BoG approved change, all LOAs are now
irrevocable once accepted. New PatCom slide set is now available at:
http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/pat-slideset.ppt
ProCom is dealing with a number of issues largely through ad hocs:
Dominance, Stabilized Standards, Electronic Voting, etc.
AudCom is publishing the accepted sponsor P&Ps on their website
and will maintain these as the official versions of those sponsor’s P&Ps.
The SASB voted in June 2006 to require that the OFFICIAL versions be
those on the SASB AudCom site.
