Follow the directions
You have until March 4 to complete your registration.
Any locked course will need a form signed by a parent
giving permission to change it. Return the form to your
counselor before March 4.
If you want to change a recommendation please discuss
this with your current teacher….they know you best!
Course selections will be mailed home in mid-March and
you will have until March 31st to make any final changes.
You MUST request a minimum of 6 credits. We
recommend at least 7.
You need English every year to equal 4 credits.
AP English Language and Composition
(Rhetoric)
Advanced English 11 (Fiction Literature)
CP English 11
English 11 (Not NCAA approved)
In addition to 11th grade English, you may select any of the half or
full year senior English courses, however if a senior needs the
course to graduate you may be asked to drop the course.
You need social studies every year to equal 4 credits.
AP US History (1 credit only)
CP US History
US History (Not NCAA approved)
In addition to a US History course you may select any of the half year
social studies, however if a senior needs the course to graduate you may
be asked to drop the course.
Business Law 1, Business Law 2/Ethics, and African American History
count as social studies credits.
You need 3 credits of science to graduate.

other recommended science courses (AP and

Wake Up State High- only for Juniors and Seniors, meets from
7:00 am until 7:45 am 4 days a week. Fall or Spring.
Virtual Physical Education- Applications are online starting
summer of 2016 for all future semesters. Counselor must receive
proof of registration before taking PE off of your course requests!
To change your PE from Select PE to another elective PE, see or
email your counselor
You need two health courses to graduate. Have you taken and passed
Health 1? If not, schedule it (Health 9).

Leadership in Wellness (community involvement)
Sports Nutrition and Safety (athletic-based, CPR component)
Wake Up Health- only for Juniors and Seniors, meets from 7:10 am
until 8:00 am 5 days a week. Not yet open for registration.
Virtual Health 2- Applications are online starting summer of 2016 for
all future semesters. Counselor must receive proof of registration
before taking Health off of your course requests!
You need this to graduate.
If you have not completed this course, schedule it!
Virtual Drivers Education- You must register
online through Community Education
College Bound students need to complete the second
level of the same language (2 years) for most colleges.
Colleges want to see a grade of a C or better.
Arabic, Spanish, French, German, and Latin are
offered.
Always double check admissions requirements for
schools in which you are interested!
Electives help you explore your interests. If
you need help finding electives please meet
with your counselor.
You need a total of at least 5.5 electives.
Remember, if you take a 4th credit of math
or science and you take a world
language…..these all count towards your
electives. You need 22.5 credits to graduate.
During the next two years you will need to complete a
graduation project. Talk to your Junior English, social
studies and elective teachers. If you have questions
see your counselor.
Complete description of requirements is posted on
SCAHS website under Students Tab.
You will need to complete 20 hours of community
service to graduate. Once you have completed any
hours, fill out and submit a Community Service form
found in the counseling offices.
Do not wait until your senior year to start!

in marking period 1 for this year.
GPA may not be accurate due to courses in progress
Please check your transcript for accuracy. Make sure your
address is correct and that all of your courses are listed.
If anything looks incorrect, please write the correction on
your transcript and return it to the counseling office.
February 1 - Students can see their recommendations
and start to request classes for next year.
You have until March 4 to complete your requests.
Course selections will be mailed home for final
confirmation in mid-March – due back March 31st.
End of July - Schedules will be online and schedule
changes may be submitted until August ? (TBA)
Remember, you are entering requests. NOT
registering for courses! Schedules will not be
created until late summer.
