in class.
This class uses technology often. Internet and
computer access are helpful but not necessary
to complete school work at home.
PAP
1 to 2 hours per week.
Heavy workloads with
projects/essays: in-class
time is given, but
homework may be
required as well.
Internet is necessary at home
Some English I classes
use the standard based
grading model and the
Active Grade gradebook.
30-45 min. per week
We are a digital classroom, so most
assignments are created and submitted digitally
through Google Classroom. Internet access is
definitely beneficial to completing work outside
of class, but when it is not an option I will work
with those students to find solutions.
I use the Standards Based
Learning gradebook

Technology
Techniques
Yes, Internet is necessary unless
they can complete online
assignments and Membean
before/after school in the library.
Google Classroom and Membean are
both used regularly. Computer
access at home is recommended.
This is a digital class meaning we will
be using technology for vocabulary
development, turning in assignments
and completing projects. It is helpful
to have access to a computer at
home.
This classroom does two Project
Based Learning Assignments. The fall
project is done mostly in the
classroom and is entirely the student's
choice of topics. The spring project is
a community based project with a
research element combined.

AP
1-3 hours a week of
homework which includes
reading novels
Technology is used regularly. Internet at home

GT/
American
Studies
Students should expect to
have an average of 30
minutes per day outside of
class.
American Studies will be a digital classroom.
All classwork will be conducted through online
portals.
PAP
-Project-based class.
-Individual and teams.
-A greater emphasis on
research skills and
processes.
English IV
Time
Technology
On Level
Approximately 1 hour per
week outside of class
The class is digital and
computer access is
recommended but not
necessary for student
success.
AP/GT
Approximately 2 hours per
week. Sometimes it is
more than this, and
sometimes less.
Internet access is required
for Membean. Otherwise,
the technology load is not
heavy.
Techniques
The central focus of the
class is reading literature,
like novels and dramas,
and writing college-level
analytical essays.
