Early Life
• Muhammad Ali was born in Louisville,
Kentucky in 1942.
• Ali loved riding his bike and one day his
bike got stolen and he went to the nearest
policeman and told him that he wants to
beat up the person who stole his bike.
Timeline
1942- Ali is born in Louisville Kentucky
Ali’s bike is stolen and meets Joe Martin
Ali starts training with Joe Martin
1954- Ali’s first amateur bout and won fight
by spilt decision
1956- Ali wins the Golden Gloves
championship.
Adulthood
• Ali wins Golden Gloves championship
• 1960- Ali wins a spot on the U.S. Olympic
boxing team
• Ali returns home a hero but still gets
denied service at a segregated restaurant
• Ali joins a black Muslim group called the
Nation Of Islam
• Changes his name to Cassius X
Ali’s struggles
Ali started boxing when the U.S. was
segregated so he didn’t get much support
Nobody wanted to give Ali a chance to box
because he was African American but
fortunately his trainer got him a match.
Also a lot of people booed Ali during his
match's because he was African
American.
Reaction
I think Muhammad Ali’s story is very
inspirational because he never gave up no
matter who doubted him. He never backed
down from a fight. He also changed the
world of boxing with his techniques. I
would like to be like Ali because hes one
of the greatest boxers of all time and never
gives up he also works very hard to
achieve his goals.
