MALCOLM X
On May 19,1929 in Omaha,
Nebraska a hero was born! That
hero was named Malcolm Little. In
1929 the Little’s moved to Lansing,
Michigan.
During the time of living in Lansing
Mr.Little (Malcolm’s father) was killed
by members of the K.K.K the Ku Klux
Klan. He was cut in two by a “street
car” his head was also smashed
during this horrendous crime.
Malcolm was an intelligent student
who dreamed of becoming a lawyer.
However, his dream was ruined
when his teacher told him it would be
impossible for a Black. So with his
dream in despair he dropped out of
school while
in 8th grade.
During this time period of his life
Malcolm X began to steal from all
different people. He was later
arrested and was sent to jail on
burglary charges, for 10 years.
While in jail Malcolm met some men
that were led by Ellijah Muhammad
who was a muslim. Malcolm X
studied the Muslim religion and
decided he liked it and became a
muslim himself.
In 1952 Malcolm X chose to
follow in of Muhammad’s steps.
But unlike Muhammad Malcolm
wanted the whole world to know
what he believed in and what he
fought for. He wanted all whites to
know he was there to stop all
discrimination for African Americans.
In 1964 Malcolm X made a
“pilgrimage” to Islam’s city Mecca.
Where he was honored with the
name El-Hajj Malik El Shabazz
Malcolm X was shot and killed on
Febuary 21, 1964. The people who
shot were arrested and were later
recognized as members of the
Nation Of Islam.
Malcolm has been a big inspiration
to us all. He will always be known as
a leader that helped set all African
Americans from all descrimination.
You’ll forever be in our hearts.
IN MEMORY OF
MALCOLM
After Thought
Some people say Malcolm X was a
trouble maker. Others may say he
was a man that accomplished
nothing. But I believe Malcolm
accomplished many things. He is a
hero in my heart. Whether you think
the same or not. May Malcolm X be
an encouragement to us all!
