EROSION

I learned that erosion is the process of the Earth getting worn down. Natural elements
such as glacial ice can erode An example of erosion is the Grand Canyon most of it is
eroded. Also erosion is a Destructive force on the land. Erosion happens when an
ocean beats on a cliff and small little pieces start to break away.
FLOOD CONTROL

I leaned that Flood control is watching how much water flows into
one system and not over flow the that system the cause a flood.
Things that help not cause floods are flood gates, leves, and they help
for not to much water to flow into a river or the ocean.
BEACH RECLAMATION
Beach Reclamation is the reclaiming of a beach from erosion and adding to the
shoreline there once was. Most of it doesn't really occur on beaches but any shoreline
or any beach people can add to the sand that is eroding.

Riter Scale
A seismologist looks at earthquakes
and plates a famous fault is the San
Andres Fault also the definition of
earthquakes is a violent shaking of
the earth, caused by a shifting of the
earth's crust. They use sezmic waves
to know how strong the earthquake
is.

SEISMOLOGY
The picture is about Intensity
. Intensity is the strength of
the shaking motion of an
earthquake and how much
the plates are moving.
Seismologist use
seismometer to help with
intensity

GEOLOGIST
Volcanoes
Weathering
and
Deposition

There are 4 types of volcanoes, Shield, Composite, Cinder, and
Ashflow Calderas. Each type of volcano produces a different type
of eruption.
GEOLOGIST
Volcanoes
Shield volcanoes are broad and wide. When it erupts, slow,
oozing lava flows from vents. Shield volcanoes' eruptions are not
explosive.
Composite volcanoes have explosive eruptions. They have wide
and steep slopes. Alternating layers of lava and ash create steep
slopes. This type of volcano is a constructive volcano.
Ashflow Caldera volcanoes are also known as supervolcanoes
because they are the most violent and powerful volcanoes. They
usually have wide open vents surrounded by hills of ash.
Cinder volcanoes form really fast and their eruptions spray lava
and gas into the air.

When a volcano erupts, magma flows from the magma chamber,
through the conduit, and passes out through vents. Then it becomes
lava. It is called magma when it is inside the ground, and lava
when it is outside the ground. The conduit is the tube that the
magma comes through to get to the surface.
GEOLOGIST
Deposition
Deposition plays a part in weathering and
erosion. Deposition is the part of weathering
that rocks, sand, and sediment are carried by
wind and then they settle in a new area.
Deltas can form by deposition. Deltas make
the mouth of a river wider.
GEOLOGIST
Weathering and erosion work together to create
or destroy landscapes. Weathering is the
process of wearing away and changing the
Earth. There are multiple types of weathering,
there is chemical weathering, mechanical
weathering , and organic weathering.
Chemical weathering occurs when a chemical,
such as acid rain, breaks down rocks.
Weathering
Mechanical weathering is were water goes into
rocks and freezes, causing the rock to expand.
This happens over and over again and
eventually the rock breaks.
When plants break down rocks, the process is
known as biological weathering.
PROBLEM AND SOLUTION
Geologist: My problem is that volcanoes keep destroying wildlife and people's homes. My
solution to this problem is that scientists could watch and study volcanoes closely, and when it is
about to erupt, they could warn people so they can evac
Semiologist: My problem is that earthquakes kill a lot of people and animals so here is some
ideas I think that we can make the houses or buildings can be made with a better materials
like some iron in the bricks or put more rector scales all over the world. Also we can put
earthquake sires so we can warn people before it happens
Conservationists: My problem is how to make stronger levees and dams. I found to build a
stronger levee since levees

THANKS FOR WATCHING
We hope you have a wonderful day
and try not to get into a earthquake or
volcano.
