The Pyrenees Mountain Range Created By: Renee Leveridge Ms. Demsky's homeroom 6th grade advanced Location The Pyrenees mountain range is located in the southeastern part of Europe separating Spain and France. It stretches from the Bay of Biscay 270 miles to the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea. At its western end it blends interceptibly into the Cantabrian mountains along the Iberian peninsula. Trade between the two countries (France and Spain ) is difficult because of the widespread and steep mountain range separating them. The two countries use boats most of the time to trade. The Pyrenees mountain range is habitable. It has ski resorts and back before I existed there were Native Americans who used the land for planting crops and keeping livestock. Formation • The formation of a mountain happens when the tectonic plates push together and rise to form a volcano or mountain. A volcanic arc system are multiple volcanoes that form where the crust of a sinking oceanic plate melts. When sediment is deposited it can be eroded or weathered and that can also form a mountain Fun Facts (but don't get too excited about it there are surprises ) !😉 • Did you know that the highest peak of the Pyrenees mountain range is 11,169 feet or 3,404 meters ? • If the highest peak is 11,169 feet and there are 0.3048 meters in one foot , how many feet are there for every 3 meters ? 🤔 • Please write your answer as a ratio and do 3 proportions. • Did anyone tell you that the Pyrenees are approximately 80 miles in width or 422,400 feet ? • If the Pyrenees are approximately 422,400 feet wide and there are 5,280 feet in one mile, how many feet are there for every 5 miles ?🤔 • Same here Answers !
