Warm-up
• Get your journal and open to your Layers of the
Earth Notes
• Write down the four main layers from inside out
• Grab a packet from the front cart
• Create a new page in your journal labeled “ Layers of
the Earth Foldable”
• Follow the instructions on the page with three
circles
Objective 6.10A Layers of
Earth:
• The student is expected to build
a model to illustrate the
structural layers of the Earth,
including the inner core, outer
core, mantle, crust,
asthenosphere, and lithosphere.
Foldable and
Gallery Walk
Directions:
1. Cut out each circle. Starting at 5 and lay
them down in that order.
2. Glue Circle 5 to your journal
3. Cut circle 1 down the middle on the
dotted line.
4. Fold all other circles in half
5. Glue one half (1/2) of each circle to the
circle below it, EXCEPT circle 1.
6. Make a tab on the edge of each half of
the earth and glue it right outside of
your other spheres
7. DO NOT BEGIN THE GALLARY WALK
UNTIL I RELEASE YOU!

• COLOR WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED

• Work in groups(no more than 5) or
alone
• 6 stations to visit
• Write the important information about
each section on your foldable
• Lithosphere and Asthenosphere might
need to be written on the notebook
