WHAT IS EROSION ?
Erosion is the
process by
which the
surface of the
Earth gets worn
down.
Erosion of ice
Ice erosion can
take one of two
forms. It can be
caused by the
movement of
ice, like
glaciers.
Erosion of ice.
Erosion of wind.
The natural wind
circulation
moves small
rocks and dust.
• Erosion of wind .
Erosion of Water
Splash erosion is
the movement of
small soil
particles.
Erosion of Water
Erosion of Thermal
• Thermal erosion
is the result of
melting and
weakening
frozen ground
due to moving
water .
Erosion of Gravity
• Landslide
movement of
rocks and
boulders, mainly
due to the force
of gravity.
Erosion of Tectonic effects
• The removal by
erosion of large
amounts of rock
from a particular
space, and its
deposition
elsewhere, can
result in the load
on the lower crust
and land.
Causes of Erosion
• The rate of
erosion depends
on many factors.
Causes of Erosion
Effects of Erosion
Soil is removed
naturally by
ocean currents,
water, ice, wind
or living
organisms.
Shoreline Erosion
• Shoreline
erosion, which
on both exposed
and sheltered
coasts.
•
shoreline
erosion.
What we learned
• That there are more types of
erosion and it would be diffcult
if we didn’t have erosion. And
we also learned that erosion is
the process by which the
surface of the Earth gets worn
down.
