Physical Geology is a
introducing for students
will learn about plate
tectonics, earthquakes,
volcanoes, weathering,
erosion, and about Earth's
resources.
Plate tectonics is a knowledge of the
interior parts of earth, it is
understood that the uppermost part
of earth.
Due to very high difference of
temperature and pressure ther lower
part is floating on the outer core.
a mountain or hill, typically conical, having a
crater or vent through which lava, rock
fragments, hot vapour and gas are have been
erupted from the earth's crust.
An earthquake is the result of a sudden
release of energy in the Earth's crust that
creates seismic waves. The seismicity
activity of an area refers to the frequency,
type and size of earthquakes experienced
over a period of time.

Weathering is the breaking down
of rocks, soil and minerals as well as
artificial materials through contact
with the Earth’s atmosphere, and
waters.
Physical(Mechanical) Weathering
Chemical Weathering
Physical weathering, also known as mechanical
weathering, is the class of processes that causes
the disintegration of rocks without chemical
change.
Chemical weathering includes changes in
chemical composition of rock due to
chemical reaction happening due to
surrounding atmosphere conditions this
includes temperature, pressure etc.
» Hydrolysis
» Oxidation
» Carbonation
Erosion is the term associated with the
physical action friction by several
agencies like wind, water etc.
Erosion by water
Erosion by wind
Water erosion is the detachment and
removal of soil material by water. The
process may be natural or accelerated by
human activity.
Land Slides
Mud Slides
The wind erosion process detaches soil
particles from the land surface and
transports them by wind.
