our city of Idaho Falls.
We can take walks along the
Green Belt.
Stop and eat at many of our
local restaurants.
Go fishing or floating on the
Snake River.
Go visit the zoo.
See the Museum of Idaho.
Listen to the
Idaho Falls Symphony.
We have many colleges in Idaho.
We can go horseback riding.
Many of the people in Idaho
Falls work at the INL .
An important place in Idaho is the town of
Boise. Our state capitol is there.
What does the word capital
mean?
• A capital is the main city or
town associated with its state
government.

Craters of the Moon
National Monument,
Arco, Idaho. The
Monument is 83
squares miles in
area. Much of it is
covered by lava.
Sunrise illuminates
rocky lava flow. The
landscape supports
relatively few plants
and animals and has
been inhospitable to
mankind as well.
Lava flow covers
rugged terrain. It is
within the Great
Rift Zone where
volcanic activity
and eruptions
began. There has
been no activity
during the last
2,000 years.
