Bacteria

– Aerobic bacteria must have oxygen to grow
and live
– Anaerobic bacteria are destroyed in presence

– Humans can get disease through cuts in skin

Protozoa

• Always dividing and changing shape
• Flagella
– Many have this long, threadlike appendage

• Amebic dysentery
– Severe diarrhea
• Abscesses may develop in liver
– Prevalent in countries where drinking water is

– Common among children in schools
