Bloodborne Pathogens
What is a bloodborne pathogen?
Any disease that can be transmitted from
one person to another by body fluids such
as blood.
Examples of bloodborne pathogens:
HIV
Hepatitis
Viruses
Bacteria
To control these pathogens, all
employees must:
Wash all exposed areas before and after
providing first aid.
Use Personal Protective Equipment appropriate
for first-aid situations.
Treat all body fluids and soiled items as
contaminated.
Clean up spills of body fluids with antibacterial
solutions.

Report all suspected exposure to your
supervisor.
