Anthium Dioxcide
Introducing Anthium Dioxcide
International Dioxcide A Dupont Company
Broad Spectrum Antimicrobial Activity
Effective over a wide pH range
Does not chlorinate or form halogenated organics (carcinogens)
Residuals easily analyzed
Effective against biofilms
Bacteria, protozoa and virus inactivation including spore forming
organisms
Anthium Dioxcide
Selective oxidation chemistry – no free radical chlorine to form
THM’s or HAA’s
Easily proportioned into water lines
Cost effective. To make three gallons stock solution (384
gallons H2O)
Complements AquaMax program
Not temperature sensitive
Advantages of Anthium Dioxcide
The properties of Anthium Dioxcide make it more
effective than:
• Chlorine
• Peracetic acid
• Hypochlorite
• Potassium permanganate
• Inorganic acids
Advantages of Anthium Dioxcide
Remains a dissolved gas, maintaining 100% activity under varied
conditions
Effective in pH range 3-10, providing microbial control
Excellent oxidizer for iron & manganese, eliminating sludge and
biofilms in water lines
Controls taste & odor problems associated with hydrogen sulfide,
chlorophenols and biological organisms
Advantages of Anthium Dioxcide
Selective oxidation allows it to resist neutralization by organics
and hardness
High efficacy means lower amounts of chemicals needed with
doses less than 5 ppm
Less corrosive than chlorine, sodium hypochlorite and
inorganic acids
EASY to USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Environmental Advantages
Degrades to Sodium Chloride
Does Not Chlorinate
• Does Not Form Carcinogenic or Mutagenic
Disinfection By-products (THM’s)
Twenty to Thirty Times More Efficacious Than
Other Disinfectants
• Less Chemical Use
Organic (NOL)
Super Activated w/
inorganic & organic acids
How it Works!!!!!!!!
ClO2 Disinfecting Properties
Kills Bacteria, Spores, Viruses, Fungi and Algae
Fast Acting: Kills Within Minutes of Contact
Effective Over a Wide pH Range
Organisms Cannot Develop Immunity
Effective Over a Wide Temperature Range
Easily Measured Residual
Mode of Disinfecting Action
Selective Oxidative Attack on Aromatic and Sulfur
Containing Amino Acids Contained in Enzymatic and
Structural Proteins
• Aromatics: Trytophan and Tyrosine
• Sulfur Containing: Cysteine and Methionine
Causes Disfunction of Metabolism, Respiration, Active
Transport and Protein Synthesis
• Weakens Cell Structure - Loss of Integrity
Polypeptides
After Oxidation

Specific Use Instructions
Make an initial stock solution by diluting 5oz Anthium Dioxcide
in three gallons water
Proportion into water line at 1oz per gallon of drinking water
(5ppm)
After 24 hours, rate reduced from 5ppm to 1ppm or 1 oz per
three gallon of drinking water (minimum concentration=.5 ppm)
Available in 5 gallon pails from WYNCO/IVS
Anthium Dioxcide
Super Activated with Acidic Cleaners
Can be mixed with Acidic Cleaners for Super Activation and
Bleaching Action
• Acidic Barn Cleaner
• Acid-A-Foam
• ATW – 15 to 20 oz in Tray Wash Tank
.8 oz/gallon of use solution Acid Cleaners
.8 oz/ gallon alone with water
Always add diluted Anthium Dioxcide first and then
add use solution of acidic cleaner!
Uses of Anthium Dioxcide
Waterline Maintenance
Waterline Maintenance – Between flocks
1 Make stock solution by mixing Anthium Dioxcide with water
• Open drain at end of waterline, when foam appears, close the line (picture)
• Trigger each nipple to allow all parts to be exposed to solution
• Allow treatment to stay in line for 18-24 hr.
• Flush with fresh water until no foam appears
Routine Waterline Maintenance
Bleach is most popular water additive:
• Produces free radical Chlorine molecules
• Negative effect on kidney function
• Loses biocidal efficacy above pH 7, inactivated by organic material, very
volatile
• Forms Chlorinated organics, THM’s & HAA’s; known carcinogens coming
under regulatory pressure, drinking water & chiller water
• PWT – sulphates, very corrosive, flushing
