Eco-Biological marine Reef & Fish tank
OBJECTIVE
Design an eco-friendly marine
tank (zero-water change) system
with a biological filtration using
mainly discarded materials.
DESCRIPTION
Dual tanks of 6ft length, 3ft height & 2ft width
A dual tank system (corals and
free swimming) with a singular
biological sump that is virtually
maintenance free.

The plenum base was made
from discarded materials and
found to be effective in
cultivating bacteria for
maintaining water clarity.
A discarded, damaged protein
skimmer (removes fish & coral
wastes) was made reusable by
using rubber bands as a seal.
The florescent lighting was
enhanced using kitchen foil.
A: Creating the plenum
base using discarded
materials.
B: Discarded basket and
pipes cut to construct
the foundation base.
C: Reusable protein skimmer using rubber bands.
