• Definition: cancer is the uncontrolled
growth of abnormal cells in the body.
Cancerous cells are also called malignant
cells.

• 14.1 million new cancer cases diagnosed 2012
• 8.2 million cancer deaths -2012
• 32.6 million people still live with cancer
within 5 years of diagnoses –2012

• The most focus is placed on BREAST
cancer in women
• Men are also victims of breast cancer
• Little focus is placed on Prostate cancer
• Little focus is placed on Lung cancer
Media coverage is mainly focused on the
mentioned cancers yet there are many more
that need attention.

Why shift the Focus
• Cancer kills and it does not matter if it is
breast cancer or prostate cancer,
• If the cancer is not detected in the early
stages, the chances of being successfully
treated diminish.
• 65% of cancer deaths occur in developed
regions, that was 5.3 million deaths 2012.

• To be able to bring focus back on all the cancers that affect
humans as well as animals.
• To encourage the establishment of Family support groups
through out the world
• To raise funds for Hospice in South Africa to show our
appreciation for the work hat they do.

What happens to donations?
• Donations towards Pole2poleandback get applied
towards the cancer awareness drive.
• Donations collected during the drive goes directly
to the beneficiary
• Any excess donations collected for the drive not
utilized goes towards the beneficiary.
• Beneficiary receives funds donated after the
completion of the drive.

Why donate?
• Many in developing countries information relating
to cancer is not readably available.
• Pole2poleandback intend bringing focus back onto
cancer through our drive.
• To many people die because the lack of early
detection of cancer.
• Too many people die because of cancer and they
were never diagnosed correctly in order for them
to get the treatment that could save their lives.
