Why is the CR@B network important?
About 1/3 people get cancer and 1/4 die from it. Around
1/220 people are newly diagnosed with cancer each year;
Almost every department in the University has academics
working on cancer;
Cancer and Oncology is the biggest research area at the
RUH. It is also a major interest at other centres;
Lots of opportunities for networking and collaborative
research;
Research funding is going to centres of excellence.
Mission Statement
‘The CR@B networks mission is to facilitate
interaction between departments and institutes,
multi-disciplinary research and provide excellent
research and training opportunities for its
members. It is also our mission to interact with
fundraisers and industry, and generally raise
awareness of all aspects of cancer’
