• Making a web is just
like building a house.
• You need 4 simple
steps to build a
house.
Building a House
• To make a house you need some space, an
address and a builder.
• The space represents a website, the address is
the domain name and the builder is the
software.
4 Steps
1. First you need to
buy a domain name.
2. Then you need a
web hosting.
3. Then you need a
builder to build the
house.
4. Then you have a
website.
Step 1. A Domain Name

A domain name is like example.com.
How do we get a domain name?
We just go to name.com to find a domain name.
If the name is available then you should quickly buy it
before some else grabs it.

Step 2. A Web Hosting
• How do we get a web hosting?
• We have to go to the web hosting website at:
hostgator.com or godaddy.com.
• After that we buy a hosting, and they will give
you a password to enter cPanel.
How Much Does It Cost?
Cheap or Expensive
• As you can see from the graph above, some of
the hosts are cheaper than the other.
• The cheapest of them all is iPage.
• The most expensive is Hostgator.
• Even though Hostgator is expensive, I think it is
the best because my father, an expert at web
design, uses it for all his clients.

Step 3. Building a website
• How do we build a website?
• There are at least 2 ways to do it.
1. One way is to hire someone to do it
2. Use a software like Wordpress.
How do we use a software?
• To use a software ……Like I mentioned
earlier, your hosting will give you a
password to enter cPanel.
• cPanel is an administration software
where you begin to make your website.
• When you enter your password you were
given, you have to choose a software to
use.
• I recommend the software, Wordpress.
Step 4. Customize
• When you have downloaded your software, you login to
your website and start customizing it.
• When you have finished customizing, then you can start
writing on your website.

Building it
• When you have what
you need then it’s
time to build the
house.
• When it is finished,
log in to your website
and then customize it!
