What does X-Quest offer?
• X-Quest authoring tool allows: Creation, Maintenance, and
Visualization of multipurpose questionnaires.
• X-Quest has 3 main modules accessible by any
commercial Web browser:
– The Questionnaire Control Center,
– The Design Module, and
– The Evaluation Module.

Questionnaire Control Center
• Create, modify or
delete questionnaires.
• Preview the final
questionnaire
appearance.
• Save questionnaires at
the server side or
export data in several
formats: XML, etc.
• Multilanguage
Support.

The Design Module
QUESTIONNAIRE PANEL
• This module may be used
to create new
questionnaries from
scratch.
• Contains four different
panels that may be
accessed from the upper
selection bar.

The Evaluation Module
• Students may access X-Quest using any commercial Web
browser.
• A timer is started when the browser displays the
questionnaire HTML page.
• When the time expires, the filled answers are sent to the
server and the student is notified.
• The server process and evaluates the answers and returns a
new HTML page with the results and a feedback message.

What kind of questions can we
Design?
• There are three basic types of questions supported:
– Selection,
– Multiple Choice, and
– Textual Answer, with several possibilities:
• Long Text (sent by e-mail to the tutor),
• Short Text,
• Numeric.
• Questions may include multimedia elements located at
different positions in the Web page and configured by the
instructor.

May we use X-Quest, download,
or install it ?
• X-Quest has been implemented in Java and may be used
with any commercial browser.
• In THEIERE site in Vigo we give detailed instructions to
use, download or install the tool with a few mouse clicks.

Summary
• X-Quest authoring tool allows the creation, maintenance
and evaluation of multipurpose questionnaires.
• The data of questionnaires created with X-Quest may be
exported in different formats, for instance, as XML
documents.
• The resources generated are compatible with the IMS
specification and may interoperate with IMS enabled
learning systems.
