Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate an appreciation of the nature and
character of user requirements.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the range of
methods available to elicit and model
requirements.
3. Undertake user-centred usability evaluation in a
theoretically informed manner.
4. Plan, design and evaluate a website.
5. Demonstrate competence in the use of
authoring tools.
Assessments
• Module assessed by coursework only. (No
exams)
• Two pieces of coursework, one building on the
other.
• Deadlines are usually around weeks 9 and 13.
• Involve steps involved in building and
evaluating a web site.
Comments on Coursework
• The coursework takes time. Try to start it well
in advance.
• Some parts of the coursework will require
getting the help of other class members. This
will take time for you to arrange.
• Try and help each other.
• Hand in your work – most people who hand in
their work, pass.
Teaching Pattern
Weekly class contact:
• Two hour lecture
• One hour tutorial
• One hour laboratory practical.
• Expect to spend twelve additional hours a
week (about 1½ working days) in independent
and directed study.
