School of Education
University of St. Thomas
Why Learning Technology
Program
42% of teachers received six or more hours of
basic-skill training, whereas only 29% received
curriculum-integration training (Education Week,
1999)
Only 44% of new teachers consider themselves
well-prepared to use technology (National Center
for Education Statistics, 2001)
Training on “integrating technology into
curriculum” has a greater influence on teachers
than training on “basic technology skills”
