Google scholar
accessing good resources
Google scholar has criteria
The document must be scholarly articles (no book reviews,
news, books). Not everyone who wants their document on
google scholar gets it there
The document must have EITHER a full, author written
abstract, or full text (in other words, not all hits have the full

Public library
accessing good resources
• Access these sites from the
library webpage OR the school
portal (click “My23” on the
school webpage)
• These sites are ALL subject to
editorial review
• They require a subscription
(school has paid). Access is
automatic at school; at home
you need to use the portal or
else you will need a username
and password.
accessing good resources
When you use resources, you MUST “cite” them in a
works cited or works consulted list (traditionally
called a bibliography).

Gives credit to the authors
